How do I insert a MrSID image in MS Word 2003?

I have inserted MrSID (*.sid) image files in previous versions of MS Word and
I can view previously imbedded images, however MrSID images are not a
supported image file type in my current MS Word 2003 configuration.

Hi Jah Pe,

MS hasn't offered direct support for the MrSid GPS images
but there have been 3rd party Active X controls (plug-ins) that would
allow you to use Insert=>Object or Insert=>Picture with
Word or Powerpoint to insert a SID graphic in a Word document.
I don't know if the Windows XP SP2 update security features
will still allow that ActiveX control to function in Word
(it stops even some MS Office ones).
