How do i install office 2000 without the codes?

I

India Foxtrot

I purchased Office 2k in August 2000 and installed it onto my PC. I have
recently purchased a new PC and wish to install it onto it.
Unfortunately I do not now have the 25 Character Key. I know I should have
kept it, but I did'nt. Am I now faced with having to purchase the software
again or is there a way around this problem.

If you have your orginal PC with the software installed, you might be able to
have Microsoft to identify the key with the product ID and registry
information, but I think that would be highly unlikely.

Belarc doesn't work with Office 2000.

If that copy of Office was a full retail version and you can provide some
sort of proof of purchase, Microsoft will re-issue a product key. If it came
with your old computer, Microsoft will not help you. You would have to go
back to your computer manufacturer and I'd be EXTREMELY surprised if they
would even try to help you with this after 6 years.
