How do I install Office 2003 over Office 97?

Office 97 came preinstalled on my Gateway computer. I've been given Office
2003 (it's legal, it's so I can work at home). Are there any issues I should
be aware of? Do I need to uninstall 97 before installing 2003? Thanks in
advance

If Office 97 came "preinstalled" on your computer, I would wonder
seriously if it meets the installation requirements for Office 2003!
Windows 2000 SP3 or Windows XP operating system, plus approriate CPU,
memory(RAM) and hrddrive space.
