How do I install Office 2003 Pro over Office 2003

R

Robert Nagy

My new Toshiba M35X came with a trial version of Microsoft Office. I have
now purchased a new Office Pro 2003 and would like to install it on my
computer.
Do I have to remove the trial version of Office from my computerbefore
installing the new Office Pro version?
Thanks,

Yes, please do. So many people have had issues when they don't. Uninstall
the trial version (plus any other "miscellaneous crap" that's preinstalled
on a new computer), reboot, and install the full version of Office.

JoAnn,
Thank you for your response! The Toshiba computer came with:
MS Office Tools
MS Excel 2003
MS OneNote 2003
MS Outlook 2003
MS PowerPoint 2003
MS Word 2003.
These appear to be installed in two files :
MS OneNote at 4,095 MB
MS Standard 2003 at 402 MB
Should I remove each of these?

Also, Microsoft Works is installed. Should I also remove ths program before
installing the MS Office 2003 Pro?

Thanks again for your help!

Bob Nagy

Do I need to "uninstall" each of these individually? I've already
saved the files that I've created on a "jump drive" so I can easily pull them
back up on the new MS Office.
Are there any tricks to this "uninstallation" or can I simply use the

You can keep Works if you really want but since you have Office, it's not
necessary. OneNote is also a trial version. I don't know what MS Standard
is. It's tiny so I'd let it alone if it was my system. You should be able to
uninstall Office as a whole from your control panel.

"MS Standard 2003" is probably MS Office Standard 2003 Trial. Yes you
need to remove it.
