how do I install Office XP on an additional computer?

J

Jerry L.

I have owned Office XP for two years now. I just bought a new laptop, and
I'm attemting to install it on that system as well. When I put the product
key in, the program installs, but when I try to run any application I get
kicked out because the software is "registered" on another computer (my first
one.) Any way to alleviate this situation? Thanks.

What version of Office XP? If Students and Teachers Edition, it cannot be
installed on a second computer. Likewise, if it is OEM (came with your
computer), it cannot be installed on any computer other than the one on
which it came preinstalled.

Other editions allow for 2 installs, one to a desktop and one to a portable.
You will have to activate the software once it is installed and prior to the
50th use. If the Internet method does not work, select the telephone
option.
