how do I make a calendar template

D

dale

I want to make a calendar template that I can add photos to. I want a
background photo for the entire page and then add photos to the dates in the
working area and last I would like to include the previous month and next
month small working calendars to the main page and be able to add photos to
these smaller calendars. I am new to this stuff so please keep your help
simple if possible. Thanks

I've never seen a template for something like that so your best option is to
start from scratch or maybe a basic calendar. Either way, it's not going to
be terribly difficult. I am curious how big this calendar is going to be.

I would like the calendar to be a page lenth not width with a second page
above it with a collage of photos. Since I have never done anything like
this could you help since you say it will need to be done from scratch?

What size is your paper stock? In your post you say you want the calendar page
length, not width, clarify what you mean.

If you want a photo for the background, use the Master pages.

Apply master pages to publication pages

What you want to do is not hard. There are many calendar examples within
Publisher. Your biggest problem is to insert photos into the calendar cells. If
you have an editing program, try to reduce the photos to a consistent size. In
Publisher, place your cursor in a cell, click the fill menu, click fill effects,
picture tab, browse to the photo.

I started with the basic calendar and was able to do most of all like both of
you suggested. But I am having a problem finding the fill menu you mentioned
for the photos. Could you explain? There is no fill cell in the tool bar
and when I right click on the cell there is no fill in that menu. Sorry but
I'm new to this.

It is the color fill (the bucket) menu, when you open it, at the bottom it says,
more fill colors, fill effects. With your cursor in the cell, open the color
fill menu, click fill effects, picture tab.
