How do I make all containers the same size by default?

I find when I write free-hand with the tablet the container the handwriting
is in is smaller than the typed container When I go to add more space, the
handwritten notes do not move down with typed text and everything becomes
jumbled. Is there a way to make the handwritten text automatically join the
typed text without having to play with the length of the containers etc.?
