Hi Nicole,

there are of course programs to read text of presentations, they are
primarily thought for visually impaired persons.

I would NOT recommend using such a program. Be sure, you put your
classmates to sleep with that. If you have a message to deliver to them,
deliver it personally and in your own words. Your slides and your computer
are not the center of your talk - YOU are! The slide show is only
illustrating what YOU have to say.

Kind regards,
Ute

Good point. No one, not you, not the computer should be reading your
slides. If that's all you mean to do wouldn't it make a lot more sense
to just hand out the slides and tell everyone to leave?

I treat the slides as anchors for my talk, working my way around each
bullet / graphic. If the audience is more interested in something I
spend more time on that point. Alternatively, I touch only an item or
two on many slides and sometimes, in the interest of time management,
even skip a slide or two.

Vox Proxy (and the whole animated characters set-up) do not read the
contents of the slide. Instead they read the contents of the notes page,
which should be quiet different. With some creativity and a fair amount of
work, the talk can be amusing and fun using a character
emcee/host/presenter.

If you are looking to use this to get out of work, it is far easier to do
the talk yourself. If you are doing it to look for a novel presentation
delivery, then check out www.voxproxy.com

I will reiterate Tushar's suggestion NOT to just read the slides: not by a
character, not by a reader, not by a sound file, not by a presenter.
