How do I permanently prevent a tool bar from showing up

I have tried everything to prevent an Adobe taskbar from showing up in Word
but it pops up every time after I close and reopen Word. How do I kill a
taskbar permanently. Fot the same token, how do I prevent the Task Pane to
pop up when I open Word. Task Pain would be a better description.

Hi, headache. To get rid of the Acrobat toolbar, see
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm . To get rid of
the task pane, in Word click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Startup
Task Pane" box | OK. If your installation of Word does not honor this
setting, then install the Task Pane Controller add-in from
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/ShowTaskPane.htm .
