How do I place a picture inside a "shape" in Publisher?

I know that you can use "shape" tools in publisher but I would like to be
able to "frame" a picture with a shape - for instance a heart - and discard
the remaining picture outside that box. Is there a way that I can do that in
Publisher?

If you are using Pub2003, try the following.
This is not as versatile as cropping to shape
in an image editing program but may be useful:

Choose a heart shaped "AutoShape"
left click / drag it onto your project.

Right click the shape and go to...
Format AutoShape / Colors and Lines tab...
Open the Color drop window and choose...
Fill Effects.

on the Fill Effects screen...choose the
"Picture" tab. Browse to a picture and
OK your way out.
