How do I print an centered background in publisher

If I go to a new document and add a background and then print it --
just a background and nothing else, I would think that it would print
out perfectly centered. My printer is capable of printing to .167" of
the edge. The print preview as well as the printed background is off
center. More margin at the top and left margin than the right margin
or the bottom margin.

What am I doing wrong??

Does your print hold that .167 on all four sides? Mine has a .125 margin on
the left and right, .07 at the top, and .118 at the bottom.

This is the nature of formatted backgrounds. You can do better by inserting an
image to a Master page and resizing it to fit.

yes - it does hold on all 4 sides. To test it, I went to wordpad,
changed the margins in setup to zero and watched the default. It was
..167.

Thanks. I tried doing it with a text box that I put a border around.
I can get much closer to accurate with the border than the background,
but not perfect. Is this something that I just have to live with.
Also, I noticed that if I am content with 1" margins all the around, it
is pretty accurate. If I try the 1/4", then it is off and, of course,
because it is closer to the edge it is more noticeable.
