How do I print business cards?

I put this in find, thinking there must be something already here, but
nothing came up.

It seems simple. I set up the business card in publisher, but when it prints
it only prints a row down the middle of the page, and shows brackets
(formatting lines?) around these and where the others on the sides would be.

So far, I'm only setting it up and trying it out on plan paper, not actual
perferated card paper.

I've noticed, too, when I've set up greeting cards from templates the
formatting lines (If that's what they're called) show (lightly) also. There
must be a setting to show or not show this?

I've never made business cards before, and still learning Publisher. It
seems like it would be so simple.

I also think my printer (Lexmark 5150) settings get in the way, too.
With my previous printer, it printed whatever I set up (like defaulted to
it). With this one, it seems like Publisher and the printer both have to be
set the same, or to work together.

I can probably make a business card in Word and use "print multiple
copies" and set it up all over the page, but I'd like to learn how to do it
in Publisher.

I have Office 2000.

thanks,
Carrie

File, page setup, special size, after you create your card, file, print, print
options, custom options button, input .75 side, .5 top, zero gaps.

The greeting card issue, view, boundaries and guides.

When you go to print your business card
(File / Print)..you should see a "Page Options"
button on the Print dialog screen. Click it and
then click the "Custom Options" button...

Try entering the following:
Side Margin: .75"
Top Margin: .5"
Horizontal Gap: 0.0"
Vertical Gap: 0.0"
Click OK

It worked perfectly. And seemed so simple once I knew.

Of course then I got into trying designs and test printing them, and
never got anything else done around the house (LOL)

I really love this stuff. I guess I could have worse habits, and maybe
at some point this will be something I can do in a more productive
(worse-wise) way.
