What version of Word are you using - that should always be mentioned in any
request. There are about 8 varieties in play right now and answers can vary
form one version to another. We know nothing more about your circumstances
than what you tell us.

In Word 2003, for example, use Tools> Letters & Mailings> Envelopes &
Labels, Labels tab. Click the option or Single Label, then specify the
column & row position of the label you want to print on. (If necessary,
click the Options button to select the type of label.) Click Print.

Word 2007 has the same function, but it's accessed from the Mailings Tab of
the Ribbon. Click Labels in the Create Group & proceed as above.

Not yet fully awake Bob? ;) It was 2007. And as an alternative to the method
you suggest, you can create a new document from the Labels button on the
Mailings Tab you can create a new document, into which you can type in any
cell (label).
