How do I put a glow behind objects or words?

I am able to do the above in Print Shop but when I cut and paste it doesn't
look as good. I've tried everything I can think of in PowerPoint but with no
success....HELP

Create an oval of appropriate size. Now use fill and use a radial gradient.
Say a white/yellow that fades to your slides background color. Set the oval
to have No Line. Now you have your glow, place the object you want on top
of it. All done. Note: you may want to group the oval and your object to
keep them together.

Which version of PowerPoint do you use? PowerPoint 2007 has a built-in glow
effect.

Instead of copying and pasting from Print Shop (which I do not use and
know), can you save the picture as PNG file from there and insert into
PowerPoint as an image? PNG keeps transparency and should work best for
effects like this.
