How do i remove access 97 without the disk?

Hi
I have aquired a computer with access 97 installed and i would like to
remove it prior to installing the full Office 2003 suite. I'd really like to
remove it first so that i am certain of a clean install and don't keep
thinking of it evry time i have a problem with data access in the future!
However i don't have the installation disk and it says 'setup cannot run
without your programs diskettes' when i try to remove it using add/remeve
programs.
Could anyone help me?

follow the instructions on the screen. You always get the option to
keep the old version or to remove it completely.
