how do I remove reading layout word 2003 office

I am desperate, I need to remove the reading layout so my documents are
viewed by others as they are written when I email them. Does anyone know how
to change the settings? I have microsoft office basic edition 2003.

This is a local setting. If users have "Allow starting in Reading Layout"
(Tools | Options | General) enabled, then a document opened from an email
attachment will very likely open this way. Your cover email can suggest that
they switch to Print Layout view.
