I take it you're not familiar with 2003. Word automatically opens all doc
attachments in "reading layout" as opposed to "print layout". This is
something that can be changed in Tools > Options.
Yes I know about the "default" "Reading layout" view(disable it for most
folks). But I fail to see that your solution has anything to do with
the saved format of a forwarded document?
