How do I scan document into a word doc?

I am trying to scan documents into a word doc so I may make changes to
outlines and reprint later. It only "save as" a jpeg. Please help

You need an optical character recognition (OCR) program to
convert the scanned image into editable text. OmniPage and
TextBridge are two popular programs that often come bundled with
scanners, although there are many other OCR programs available.

You have to use an OCR program.. Optical Character Recognition.. you should
have had such a program supplied with your scanner.. look on the scanner
installation CD for it if not installed..
