I need to scan hand writen notes into word and then be able to edit, move
lines, and add stuff. Is this possible ? If so how? I run on Windows XP home
edition and use office word 2003 ( office student and teacher edition 2003)
If you can print (not write cursively) very consistently -- each
letter formed the same way every time to fairly tight tolerances --
you *may* be able to get an OCR program to translate it into editable
text. (OCR = optical character recognition; you probably got a 'lite'
version of such a program with your scanner.) I wouldn't bet on it,
though. In the long run, it'll be faster to type the notes into Word.
You may want to look into OneNote
(
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010858031033.aspx and
http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote/prodinfo/default.mspx), where
you can enter handwritten notes and move them around. Unless you have
a Tablet PC with handwriting recognition, though, you won't be able to
edit them.
