how do i set default email account

I have set up several email accounts in Outlook and specified one of them to
be the default. That's the account that gets used when I send a new message,
but when I reply to a message, it sends the reply out from one of the other
accounts unless I manually change it back to the default account. How do I
fix that?

There's no 'fix' to that. It's the way Outlook is designed. Replies are sent
via the account they were received via. What issue(s) are you encountering
because of that?

I run a couple of small businesses. I want the email to go out from the
appropriate account and have the appropriate signature. I am having to do
this manually and therefore slip up from time to time and it goes out wrongly.

If the mail came into Company A's account it'll go out via Company A's
account. Same for Company B, etc. Wouldn't that make sense? I may be missing
something, though, in your setup

How Odd!

I just posted a question on this same thing, except my Outlook is doing
something different.

My default account is (e-mail address removed) Let's say I email you with
(e-mail address removed). When you reply back to me, to (e-mail address removed),
and I start a reply to you, mine automatically defaults to the default
account (e-mail address removed).

So my confusion is that I start it with company2 or account2, and you reply,
and I reply back and I don't watch, and I email you back with compan1 or
account1, the default account.

So there has to be some type of setting that you have set, that I don't.

I hope someone can help.

Hmmm, I think I just responded to another one of your posts.

Do both accounts work sending in your current location?

I have sorted out my issue. The accounts seem to be working correctly as
per your response, Vince.

I was all confused because one of my email accounts, say A@domain1, is, in
fact, only a forwarding account. Any email sent to A@domain1 is forwarded
to and received as B@domain2 by Outlook even though the message shows the
addressee as A@domain1.
Outlook then sends out the reply using account B@domain2 even though I do
have a A@domain1 outlook a/c. It is just doing what it is supposed to do.

Thanks
