How do I set up a simple calendar in project 2003

I am a first time user of Project, I have Project 2003 at work. I thought it
would be a geat tool to track some contract options I want to bereminded of.
The concept is I have several department s where I work that have contracts
that have options to extend the contract before it expires. I want to set
something up that lists all the contracts per department with the contract
original dates, an erercise option date and how long the option will extend
the contract date. Also I want a filed that will remind me 180 days, 90 days
and 60 days before the exercies option date so I don't miss the important
exercise option date.

I don't need anything to do with units of people or duration of hrs worked,
just a simple calendar that shows me important dates (milestones).

Is this possible?

Thanks for your help!

Possible, probably. But you'd be using a stick of dynamite to remove a
beer can. I'd go with Excel or Access. Others will probably disagree.
Hope this helps in your world.

Hi Sandy,

I would suggest using Microsoft Outlook's task list or the Outlook Calendar,
particularly as you want reminders. With tasks, you can set due dates,
start dates as well as add some notes that may be useful. You could also
create a new calendar in Outlook and use that visual look as well.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
