How do I set up Outlook to work with my ISP?

I have tried and tried to have my suddenlink.net email work with Outlook
2007, with no luck. I called tech support, but not much help there. I'm
sure I'm just missing some vital step, but I've no clue what it could be.
Does anyone have experience with using suddenlink as their email with
Outlook 2007?
