How do I show % of where the task SHOULD be?

K

Kevin.

I can show the "status indicator" column which will show me whether a task is
on or behind schedule based on my inputs.

I'd like to have a column that tells me what percentage each task SHOULD be
at at that particular point in time.

This will help me to gauge whether the project as a whole is still ahead
percentagely, even if some of the tasks are being shown as not started.

Thanks,
-Kevin.

Hi,

Earned value does that sort of thing but you need very accurate updating to
get meaningful results. In the meantime:

When you've agreed the schedule, save the baseline
Update tasks by:
Set Actual Start
Enter actual duration done
enter remaining duration to go.

View, Tracking Gantt to see the dates you should have been at and the
progress line for all tasks should be on or about the current date.

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Insert a new column and search for %Complete in the field name pick list.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
