how do I specify share of units in Project?

I want to divide a task equally between the resources (e.g. both have to do
50% of the work), can I use the 'share of units' to achieve this? I ready
about this in one manual, but cannot find any documentation on it elsewhere.

I think the term "share of units" is the manual author's creation.
Resources can be shared in a variety of ways. For example for an effort
driven task, assigning two resources each at 100% will cut the duration
in half. Or for a Fixed Duration task (not effort driven), assigning two
resources at 50% each can spread the total hours between the two. I
guess it depends on what you really want to do.
