how do i stop outlook from trying to open in exchange

When setting up outlook, I selected exchange by mistake. Now I can't set up
Outlook because I am not a member of a network. I have unistalled and
re-installed outlook and still get the message that outlook can not connect
to the microsoft exchange server...

Reinstalling won't help with configuration issues. Recreate your mail
profile and choose the correct account type. For detailed info see;

uninstall is a waste of time and rarely helps. go to control panel, mail
applet and delete the current profile and make a new one without an exchange
account.
