What do you actually want this download to do? For 10 items of
equipment you could write down the tracking information in any one of a
number of formats so I don't really see the connection with Project I'm
afraid.
If you want to track equipment as it is moved during the course of the
Project you could make updating of a spreadsheet or database part of the
work package description when you create tasks. If you want to ensure
that equipment is free when you need it for certain tasks in the
Project, you could add the equipment as a resource.
