how do I transfer a MS Publisher doc to a Word doc?

Made a brochure in Publisher and now I want to change it to a Word doc. Any
advise?

Yes, don't do it. It can't be done simply - you will lose your formatting
and graphics.

Why do you think you want a Word doc? Is there a reason you can't use a .pdf
file?
