How do I transfer all e-mail data to new computer?

raevynn

I am getting a new computer and I need to know how I can save all of my
e-mail data to a cd so that when I use my new computer my outlook will be
exactly the same as it was on my old computer. I want to have all of my
e-mails including deleted, sent, addresses, saved everything so that when I
open outlook I wont even notice I got a new computer. Is this possible?

Search for, and copy to the cd, files with the extension pst. BTW, why have
you got emails in the "deleted items" folder anyway?

I use Outlook Express but the idea "should" be the same

I navigate (about 6 or so layers deep) to the Outlook Express
directory and then burn the entire directory to a backup CD-R

For me, the path is (long, will wrap) with the part after
\Identities\ being system generated by Outlook Express

C:\Documents and Settings\myIDhere\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{2C7A8CD0-78FA-427F-BF86-AE333A20DC52}\Microsoft\Outlook

Erm, no it isn't. OE and OL are totally different. OL does *NOT* store data
in the Identities folder. OL profiles are located in the %root%\Documents
and Settings\userid\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
folder.
