How do I transfer my (more) contacts (backup) to contacts please

Thanks Russ, I am connected to 2 computers (office and home) same system.
Plus I am connected to Plaxo - plus I sync with my imate mobile phone.
I seem to have ended up with my Outlook contacts with say 400 contacts. My
Outlook contacts (backup) has 800 contacts. I need those 800. How do I get my
outlook contacts backup over to my Outlook contacts please.

How were these Contacts backed up and in what type of file do they reside?
