How Do I Transfer Outlook Files to a Replacement PC

R

RWicker

I have just upgraded to a new PC and want to transfer my
existing Outlook2000 e-mail and address files from the old
machine to the new one. Is it as simple as copying one or
several files from the old to the new. If so, what are
these files and where are they located on the old machine?

The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup:

Just remember that the last thing you want to do is try to overwrite a PST
file. Copy your old one and then expressly configure the new installation to
use your old PST file.
