First, just to eliminate the obvious, have you checked your Recycle bin? It
will be there unless you've emptied the bin or did a full delete.
If you have 'Automatically create a backup copy' AND you edited the document
at least once, then the folder will contain a file called 'Backup of ...'
containing the file as it was before the last edit.
Failing that, there are UnDelete utilities than can sometimes recover
deleted files, depending on how much work your hard disk has done since.
