How do I undo replacing word document with earlier version?

When I was saving my Word document, I accidentally saved an older version in
the newer version's name, then the computer froze! Now that the computer is
working again, I do I restore my original new version? PLEASE HELP ME - I
HAVE TO GIVE MY PSYCHOLOGY ESSAY INTO TOMORROW!!

Hi,

here are some suggestions:

1. Open the file and save it in the version you like.Or

2. Look in the folder where you keep the file do you have a file
called: Back up of ....
open the 'Back up file' and save it in the version you like - with a
slightly different name just in case it is an old back up.

3. Open the file press 'Ctrl A' and then 'Ctrl C' to copy all of the
text etc into a new word doc saved in the appropriate format. Or

4. Do 3. and paste it into Notepad to remove all formating then press
'Ctrl A' and then 'Ctrl C' to copy all of the text from Notepad and
past it into a new word doc and reformat it.
