how do i use images from different directory when translating text

I have a number of Word documents with many images in them.

I run the document through a batch language translator and this converts the
text. But the images reflect the base language.

What ideas? What software? What functions?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question, but "images" have no language,
pictures are "universal".

Wrong!
Iiconic representations can have different meanings to different cultures.
It's called "Ethnographology" (but the spelling will vary from one country
to another).

Sorry but the "image" itself does NOT have a language. What it
"represents" can be anything depending on the language or even the mood
of the viewer.

In rereading the the original question, the subject was the most
important part, and I suspect using a base directory and copying in the
desired files to make the switch.

The solution is found - use IncludePicture Field in Word with option Datanot
stored, and Preserve formatting.

Moving the document to the new directory refreshes the images out of the new
directory.
