how do I use Imaging to manipulate a TIF file using the same text.

I need to change words in a fax. I used an older imaging version and was
able to zoom into a specific word or letter, box it and copy it. I could
create sentences using the same text that was in the origional fax. The
newer version will try to recognize the text and it will come out in a
completely different style. Can someone please help me???
