I would like to know how to write a simple computer program

You are probably not going to get anything resembling an intelligent
response unless you give a bit more information. Try explaining in simple
terms what you want this program to do. This newsgroup is dedicated to VBA
in Word - if you're not talking about that, you might be in the wrong place
to get a meaningful answer.
