How do set a line's automatic colour in Word?

For some reason, whenever I insert a line in Word, it is colorless -
therefore, it cannot be seen. How do I change this default color for lines
back to black?

Draw a line (or select an existing one). Format it as you want new lines to
appear. Right-Click it and select 'Set autoshape defaults'.

Note that this will apply only to the current document. If you want to
change the default for all new documents, you need to make this change in
Normal.dot. See
