Make sure nothing has been selected, then just change the font to another
setting such as Arial. When you do this, everytime you add a new textbox, it
will follow the new setting.

You may have to then create an autoshape with appropriate fills and lines
and right-click and set autoshape default again. But the textbox will still
maintain the default text settings you specified before doing the actual
autoshape.
