How do you delete documents from Word?

I went into My Documents and Deleted the documents, but when I open Word the Documents are still there! However, when I click on the document, it says the path is invalid and nothing is displayed! Help!

You are clicking on the file name at the bottom of the File>Open drop down
menu, yes?
This list is of recently opened files - shortcuts to those files, but not
the files themselves. Because you have deleted the files you get the path
error message because they are gone.

Try microsoft.public.word.newusers for MS Word issues.
