I made the mistake of viewing a document in markup mode (to track changes)
and now I can not get rid of it whatever I do. I know on the ribbon you have
the choice to view the final and that works tempoaraly. When you save it,
close it then re-open it it is right back in markup mode again. I do not
want others to see the mark-ups, but I can not get arround it!!!!!!
AAARRGGHHHH

any help is great thanks!

Accept All Changes.

If you want to keep the changes alive, make a new copy of the document
(under a different name) and Accept All Changes in that one to send
around to people.

No. That does nothing at all. (Well, if you Delete an Insertion, it
does get deleted -- but it doesn't undo the struckthrough deletion
made earlier.) You'd have to Reject the Change. (Or Reject All
Changes.)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I had finally resorted to coping everything to a new document and saving it
as a new name, but Accepting changes appears to work.....Now why can't
Microsoft help give you that when you are looking at help for mark-ups?

Thanks again!

It's quite clear that Microsoft doesn't have the slightest idea how to
actually Help its users. Hence, for instance, this forum. Hang around
for a while and see how many times the same five (or maybe ten)
questions get asked.
