Home Publisher and Microsoft Publisher are two different products. Home
Publisher comes from the PictureIt photo editing line, and so has more
photo editing-type features than Publisher. Use a photo editor to blur
edges of images prior to importing into Publisher.

================================
MS Home Publishing and MS Publisher
are two very different programs. You
need an image editing program for the
task you are trying to perform.

In the following program...you would open
an image and go to...Effects / Edges / Soft...
and drag the slider to achieve the edge
transparency you require.

There's a 60 day trial version available for
download if you would like to give it a try:

Microsoft Digital Image
Starter Edition 2006
http://tinyurl.com/28loxr
(this product line has been
discontinued but you can still
down-load the Starter Version
and run it for 60 days)

Unlike the retail version...the trial does not
have the ability to create VCDs and it does
not include the clipart and pre-formatted
projects.
