Hi,

Word fields can't count text, spaces or mixes of text with numbers.

Cheers

Hi, Rao Ratan Singh. Yes, it is possible to do both things you ask:

In Word, click on Insert | Field | Field names: DocProperty | Property:
CharactersWithSpaces | uncheck the "Preserve formatting during updates"
box | OK. Select the field you just inserted and press F9 to update the
character count. Press Ctrl+S to save the document. Press Ctrl+C to
copy the DocProperty field to the Windows clipboard.

In Excel, place your cursor in the cell where you want to want the
linked Word DocProperty field to appear. Click on Edit | Paste Special
| Paste link | As: Text | OK.

Hope this helps. garfield-n-odie

Step back a little, forget your preconceptions about *how* to do whatever it
is you're trying to do, and try to explain again, more clearly, what you
actually want to end up with.
