I am unable to find out how to export the whole project as opposed to just a
screenshot.
Any help much appreciated?

Hi Nick,

I'm not sure I follow your comment. ;-)

You can export the data (not just screen shots) to Excel by using either
the Analyze Timescaled data in Excel command mentioned in FAQ #10 or by
saving a project file as an Excel file with a File > Save As command.

Once the data has been exported to Excel you could copy and paste data
from Excel into Word and it will appear as a table.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Sure it is a function of asking questions in this forum that you come over as
difficult to follow!!

I understand the Excel export but it is data heavy and what I really wanted
was to be able to send the outline of the project in a non .mpp format as we
have people at locations without mpp....

Is there a way to export a larger image than the screenshot?

Thanks for helping me out...

Hi Nick,

You're welcome for the assistance and thanks for the feedback.

As far as taking a "larger" image, about the only thing I can suggest is
to capture the project in several GIF image files.

Set up your view (Gantt chart for example) to see the timescaled graphic
as you need (zoom in or out as needed.) Select the tasks you wish to
capture and then use the Copy Picture button on the Standard toolbar.
Save the image as a GIF file and in the section under "Copy" choose
selected rows and under Timescale choose "As shown on screen."

Repeat the process for the next bunch of tasks and save as another GIF
image.

You will then have several "snap-shots" of the file and can place them
in a Word document or just send the GIF image files.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

NJS,

When I need to do that, I create a PDF. I CutePDF is what we use and I
beleive it is freeware. It installs as a printer ddriver. So you just
simply set you project view up on how you would want it to look on paper,
select Print, and select the CutePDF from the list of printers. It gives you
a file Save As option to create the PDF file. It's easy and works great.
Page breaks are just as you see them in print preview.

BTW, this is not just for Project. It also works for any printable
appilcation. Hoe this answers your question.
