How Relay work with with inital workspace download?

I would like someone to clarify the finding I have around Relay server.
During initial workspace download (right after invitation accepted), Relay
server is not involved in this process. In other words, both Manager and
Guest need to be online for the initial workspace download to work.

Once the initial download is done, any change made on the Manager will queue
on the Relay if Guest is offline. Guest will get the change from the Relay
the next time it come back on line.

Hi Ken -

Thats correct. I've seen some functionality in Groove 2007 that suggest
that Groove can also send the initial download from any user present in the
space and oinline, not just the inviter.

So, you said "I've seen", do you mean you actually see that working?

Hi Ken -

Noticing it working is harder than noticing it not working. My guess being
this kicks in if you are idle, and at least on of my Groove PCs is idle for
most of the time, so I would not notice it succesfully delivering spaces.

I do have evidence of it not working. There's a Microsoft-managed space
which regularly puts up a notification message that Groove failed to deliver
the space on behalf of one of the space managers.
