How Show 2 Pages with Odd Page on the Right Side?

Simon

In printed books & booklets, the odd page is always on the right side. And
that's how I'd like to view my Word document. Does anyone know how you can
get it to do this?

Thanks in advance

How many pages in your document? Is there a separate unnumbered cover
page and back cover? How many sections are in your document?

Generally, you will have to play with Insert/Page Numbers/Format.
Insert/Page Numbers gives you control over the position of the numbers
and their alignment. The Format button gives control as to the format of
the numbers and whether they continue from the previous section, and if
not, the starting number of a new section. You will also need File/Page
Setup to specify where new sections appear (top of new page, continuous,
new column, etc.)

This can really give you fits. I had a 52-page document that needed
breaking into 33 sections (not because of pagination). Both sides of the
front and back covers were unnumbered. So once the front cover was
opened, I wanted the number at the bottom of the first right page to be
1, even though it was actually the third page of the document (the
front cover was pages 1 and 2). It was a nightmare getting this right.
And I was content to leave the numbers in the center of the page.

If you have an unnumbered front cover, insert a section break at its
end. Then at the beginning of the new section, use Insert/Page
Numbers/Format and tick the Start At circle and enter 1 in the box.

To see the locations of the page and section breaks, click on View,
highlight the double down-pointing arrows at the bottom, and then click
on Normal.

Good luck.
