How to bypass registration for previously activated XP Office?

I had the unfortunate experience of re-formating my hard drive. When I
re-installed my office product, I was prompted to register when I tried using
Word the first time. When I did, the system verified that the product had
previously been activated "on another computer" although I installed it in
the same machine. I keep getting prompted to register (up to 49 times before
the program locks itself).

What are my options?
