Hello,
Is it possible to capture desktop actions and movements to a PowerPoint
presentation using only Microsoft products, not third-party solutions?

You can try Windows Media Encoder. (Download it from the Microsoft site.)

MS Producer (which is a free to download from the microsoft website - you may
need PowerPoint 2003) allows you to record screen videos and save them as
..wmv. Then you can use Insert->Movies and sounds->Movie from file to add
them to a powerpoint slide.
