How to change text color of a .jpg file type inserted into Word 20

workfordance

I've scanned in a signature using Paperport 10 software and saved it as a
..jpg file type. I can successfully insert the file into a word document, but
I can not change the color of the signature writing.

My goal is to change the color of the signature writing, instead of just
having it in black and white. I can't figure out how to do it. Can someone
please help??

Thank you!

Sorry...you'll have to rescan the signature or have one heckuva graphics
program to change it. I know I would not even bother to attempt it, even
with a graphics program. Rescanning is your best bet.

There is (or used to be) a Recolor Picture command in Publisher that will
convert black to a different color; assuming the signature is just black on
white, this might do the trick.

Thank you, that did work. Now, how can I get the signature (filename.pub)
into a Word document? Can you help? Do I need to save it as a different
file type? I'm not sure where the .pub files are being saved either.

Select the signature graphic in Publisher and Copy, then use Paste Special
to paste it into Word.

I'm not sure about Publisher, but some Office programs have special
(kind of hidden) menu items if you hold down the Shift key when you
click the menu. In Excel, for example, if you select a picture, then do
Shift + Edit menu, there is a Copy Picture menu item that let's you
copy at a higher resolution.

Like I said, I'm not sure if it would work in Publisher, but it's one
of those cool little tricks that's worth passing on.

In Publisher, Right-click the image, save as picture, there are different options.
(Publisher 2002-03).
