I need to have names/addresses print from my ACT! 6.0 database onto 4-up
postcard format using MS Word 2000. That format is in MS Publisher for
the
postcards, but how to export/program same format in Word?
Frank
Frank, You won't get the same "look in Word." Word is a word processing
program. Publisher is a desktop publishing program. I suggest that you use
the Mail Merge feature of Publisher. In your version of Publisher, search
for "mail merge act! data" (without the quotes)
That search returned the following for Publisher 2003 (the last bullet is
your clue).
The Microsoft Publisher Mail and Catalog Merge Wizard can use data sources
(data source: A file that contains information that can be merged into a
publication. For example, a list of names and addresses, or paths to
pictures you want to use in a mail or catalog merge. You must connect to a
data source to perform a merge.) in the following formats:
a.. Microsoft Access (all versions)
b.. Microsoft Excel (versions 3.0 and later)
c.. Microsoft FoxPro (version 2.0 and later)
d.. Microsoft Outlook (all versions)
e.. Microsoft SQL 6.x, 7.0, and 2000
f.. Microsoft Word tables or merge data documents
g.. Microsoft Works for MS-DOS 3.0 (if database contains no formulas)
h.. Microsoft Works for Windows 3.0 and later (if database contains no
formulas)
i.. Oracle 7.3, 8i (8.1.6) (if client software is installed)
j.. dBase III, IV, and V
k.. ASCII text files (except for fixed-field width files)
l.. Any data source with an OLE DB provider
