Auto shapes, more Autoshapes, scroll down to "chord" about halfway down. Open
the shadow settings, select no shadow, rotate the shape to how you want it.
There is a pie slice autoshape too that you can manipulate to a half circle.
Not knowing what you are going to do with a half circle, I
don't think Pub. has the native capability to do that (I
hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.) What I would
do is create a full circle like of the size that I want,
then create a box. Click on Format AutoShape and turn off
the lines and set fill to the color of the background (not
none). Move the box over the area of the circle you want to
disappear. Make sure you bring to front the box. This will
cause the area of the circle you want to disappear to
vanish. If you need a line on the half circle's diameter,
draw a line across it just to the left of the box or on top
of the box's edge.
