How to delete mass contacts from cantact list?

I have about 4000 Names in my contact list all in sub folders, i want to
delete about 500 hundred names. I cant delete them one by one. I want to know
if there is a way to delete those names all at once?

Open the folder, select all the items you want to delete (hold down SHIFT or
CTRL while clicking), then press Delete. If you want to delete all the
items in a folder, press CTRL+A to select all and then press Delete.
